What is telematics and how does it work?
Telematics is a way of remotely monitoring vehicles and other machines.
Here’s how our system works:
- We factory-fit or retrofit a FleetVSiON telematics control unit to each of your trucks. This continuously gathers data, in real time, from onboard sensors and other sources. It immediately transmits all data, wirelessly, to a cloud-based server.
- Our user-friendly interface portal shows you the data collected, and gives you analyses and reports. If you like, we can connect the cloud platform and data to your own IT system.
- Meanwhile, the truck receives information from our server and from you as the fleet controller. An RFID card reader allows authorised drivers to use the truck and access information via its display screen.
- This creates a powerful internet of things (IoT) application: a network of connected devices and equipment, communicating with each other, with the cloud-based server and with managers and users.
