Is the company offering you parts, servicing or repairs for your Cat® lift trucks a ‘genuine’ supplier? How can you be sure? And why does it matter?

They may have a Cat® Lift Trucks logo somewhere on their wall, but are they part of our network? If not, how can you be certain of Cat® quality? We’ll tell you how to recognise a real Cat dealer later, but first let’s look at what that means.

Cat values and qualities

There are good reasons why the name Cat Lift Trucks has such a strong worldwide reputation. Members of our dealer network are carefully selected to uphold the values and qualities of our brand. We insist not only on excellent standards of knowledge, expertise and facilities but on true care for customers’ businesses.

We ensure, for example, that our dealers’ service engineers receive top-quality, up-to-date technical training. Similarly, our salespeople are trained to give the best possible advice. A coordinated approach from our dealer teams, with powerful support from our international organisation, maximises the effect.

Optimum productivity – minimum TCO

Our dealers have full access to the comprehensive Cat forklift and warehouse equipment range. In each model, durability is blended with innovative technology that gives you a competitive edge. You can also count on the trucks’ robust construction, easy maintenance and energy efficiency to reduce your costs.

Our dealers’ expert sales staff will identify the perfect choice and combination of lift trucks for your needs. Their aim for your business is maximum productivity with minimum total cost of operation (TCO).

With their deep understanding of the trucks, our dealer staff can configure and programme each one optimally for your application. The dealer’s service engineers are better than anyone at keeping Cat trucks in peak operating condition. They are fully equipped to carry out planned maintenance and to respond quickly to emergency repair calls.

Genuine Cat parts

Importantly, they can rapidly obtain genuine Cat parts whenever replacements are needed. This topic is explored in a separate article explaining why you should always choose genuine parts. These are items approved by the OEM (original equipment manufacturer) – in this case Cat Lift Trucks.

With genuine Cat parts, you can be sure of Cat quality, performance, dependability and lifespan. They have been designed by the manufacturer to be fully compatible with the truck’s other components and systems. This is not true for non-genuine parts. Only Cat parts are certain to perform exactly as we intended and to give the long service life we demand. Non-genuine parts may be cheaper to buy, but you risk expensive damage, downtime and reduced productivity.

Cat dealers and their customers benefit from our market-leading parts supply operation. Our ‘full line, first pick’ rate is the best in the industry. Right now it stands at 97% – and for current models it’s even higher. Bear in mind, too, that our dealer network supplies parts for old Cat trucks as well as new. Other suppliers are unlikely to hold stocks for models whose manufacture ceased long ago.
